Grandfather We looked to him dauntless awe-inspiring Filled with childhood memorable stories And wisdom surpassing worth of knowing Inheritance of the past and glories Of many unflagging strength and caring Everlasting virtues are fulfilling

Eve, you brought back some memories of my own grandfather as he was similar to yours. He told amazing stories too and I thought he was a very wise man, but he died when I was five. Still think of him, especially when I read your poem. You wrote a super poem for the contest and I wish you success.

It would have been nice, to have a story telling grandpa. My grandpa's brother was the story teller. Man he could tell some whoppers:) I used to sit around the old country store listening to stories of other old men. I guess it's where I learned to have an imagination. Enjoyed your poem, Mrs Eve.:)

Daniel it is nice to think of those loved ones with the special gift they left behind.. I use to watch and listen to my father in-law tells us some big whoppers like you mention as my husband has followed suit in carrying the memories. My grandchildren just soak every story he tells...

Very beautiful Eve. I was very close to my grandfather. His wife, my grandmother, died before I was born. He never married again. Your tribute is lovely! 7 ; )
