Grandeur of a Paladin.

Claymore broken and bloodied rests
Exposed atop anonymous stone
Beside it drapes its sentinel paled
In smashed crimson armor, defeated
Swordhand desperately reaching in vain
In stilled demise grasping at the heavy blade

High in the distance tied his noble steed waits
Calling out into the spreading darkness
As death slowly spreads it’s enveloping hand
Eyes desperately reaching out in vain
For that last bit of hope of masters return
In frozen mortality as the ravens descend

Fate undiscovered lost within legend…
