Grand Theft Heart

I remember this one time
when I was nowhere near my prime
and somebody made off with my heart.

My mother watched in disbelief
and told me to chase the thief
and to stop giving in to grief.

I was falling behind in the race
so mom told me to pick up the pace
or to file a missing heart’s case.

I am still trying to reclaim
what was taken from my domain
because the four plugs are all that remain.
