Grace and Solitude

My solitude, -when I am able to discover it – how wonderful to me it is and not so difficult to do. I find it as I’m writing poetry. Right now I write with sunshine on my face. But I could be inside my house; there is no difference. I feel a kind of grace when God inspires me, and that grace is His. An extroverted introvert, I find my solitude quite easily, for I see past distractions. Thoughts come to my mind. They then take shape, like clouds form in the sky! God, give me grace again and then again - that poetry might pour from me like rain! For John Hamilton's Grace & Solitude Poetry Contest May 4, 2020

Congratulations on your win Andrea! I wanted to enter this contest but time eluded me again and I was not fast enough to write one. You have to check out Emile's poem. He wrote his poem in your Hexsonetta form and did it justice! He won second place with it! Have a great Mother's Day my friend! xxoo

I guess like you I prefer a balance of solitude and busyness. Perhaps as Paul the Apostle wrote: "I have learned whatsoever state I am in, therewith to be content." I too enjoyed your extroverted introvert phrase. Congratulations!

nope, I was a very quiet child always reading books. Became extroverted along the way but still enjoy being alone in my house!

"poetry might pour from me like rain" - this is the best feeling in the world when it happens, my friend. I know you know this.

Hmmm - an introverted extrovert - our last phone conversation ... love that line being included in this lovely write of equally lovely flow! Looking also to read your 'acorn' poem tonight but so far I haven't found it by reading your titles. Love ... CayCay

Grace is a wonderful thing ... and God, it seems, has blessed you numerous times! It is a gift to be able to fill those times of not-much-going-on with words of reflection and imagination. A very nice sonnet here, you "extroverted introvert" ... lol. Get the best of both of worlds :)

Really enjoyed this write Andrea - solitude comes easy for me as although I had many friends all my life, I was an only child and often alone, had to occupy myself. Blessings, Jennifer.

I like your idea of thoughts forming like clouds in the sky, so creative! Nice to know what inspires grace and solitude in your life, especially as a writer of poetry. Well done and best wishes in the contest, I'm sure this one will do really well.
