Grace- Lesson From a Lover
Perhaps it was just that we floated into reverie
Maybe not though because it felt more like discovery
Hard now to look in the still not empty vessel
As you have found a new star to orbit
A new soul with which to wrestle
And to live with in a love that looks to feel euphoric.
Still it remains too soon to call us old
Every time you wandered off your return just seemed foretold
With new joy to live when you came strolling back to see me
Until you burst free of that gravity stretched beyond its limits
My heart you taught so well finds it all so weighty
But beats its simple rhythm smiling through a grimace.
If there is a single lesson that this, too short, long year taught me
Lyrics, poetry, magic and cosmic messages have themselves a simple key
Their sense and logic get revealed at the times we want it to
Awake today staring off into pure dark space
Delivers a completely different view
One must be thankful for every moment lived inside a state of grace.
