Gotten Here
Tonight I experiance something new
A feeling of renewal
Somehow I find the right word in my brain
I'm becomming proud of who i recently became
No more red marks on my skin
Some don't believe me, but that was back then
No more pills stashed in my drawer
From that gamble I decided to withdraw
No drugs hidden beneath my cloths
Everything, all of it, had to go
No more do stores stocks come up short
I still don't have the money, but now for it I'll work
No more do I spray
Eventually all my paint will chip away
Never again, this I hope
Will i run away, not from home
To God I pray everyday
And everynight, I find my way
Rarely do nightmares keep me up
No longer do they make me cut
Suddenly I see I've changed
Though I still love to dance in the rain
It empowers me, every time
Something I never really felt without a high
One day I'm going to be, one of them good kids
Life is getting better, each day as it is
And I feel a feeling so new, so rare
I'm so proud, that I've actually gotten here.
