Gospel of the Lord

Gospel* of the Lord is wondrous indeed
Only possible with compassion's deed
Showing divine love to meet spiritual need 
Peacefully settled midst Scriptural creed
Exemplifying kindness of gracious breed
Letting transgressors like me to be freed.

Refrain:   Gospel speaks of Jesus' sacrifice-height
               Offering self for mankind’s salvation plight
               Satisfying redemption price with death’s might
               Propped by burial and resurrection flight
               Enabling escape from hell's destructive blight
               Leading souls to be rescued --- truly freed.

God reveals Himself with His mercy's nurture
Openly exposing His kind gesture
Saving me against sin and guilt's torture
Propping my faith upon holy posture
Empowered to become His new creature
Lifted with trust’s vision for blest pasture.
