Goose nor gander in global glasnost
Centuries old norms, all seem to go waste--
That, men would chase, women better be chaste.
It is nigh but a proven case
That lust has had no gender base,
The ball for long was in the court
Of men who held the fort of every sort.
She was supposed to play nigh hard to fetch
And still be easier to catch,
Men, painted as the stalkers
Of women, placed them in safe lockers,
Their coyness deemed special
To the mating ritual.
Beware, new breeze that wafts looks no modest,
There’s no one called girlfriend--
A partner, no more, to an end.
Desire now looms two-way,
Predator there’s, nor prey.
Libido’s painted pink,
Sex writ in bold blue ink.
The dating scene has blown the fuse,
Old timers like me to confuse.
It’s fine, go make the first move,
Sex, raised to rare spheres in the name of love.
A woman well can want a man
Just as a man his dream woman.
Today’s women as equal aim to hunt
Him, and bring to her cave upfront.
In great global glasnost--
Free for both-- who so hits way past the post.
Goose or gander, sauce be the same in taste.
So come, give me new specs
To boost what my sight lacks
A sex rebellion rages, east or west.
