Goodbye You

I think one of our biggest mistakes was not realizing our conversations were pointless I never got the feeling of warmth and complete comfort with you I tried to give you sugarcoated responses dipped in kindness Yet you turned my bright yellow sun into the dark and shady moon It's an awful feeling knowing why you stayed And it's an awful feeling knowing why you left. I couldn't say I love you because I couldn't trust you. I refuse to tell someone "I love you" knowing I don't mean it. It would be such a big lie resting on my shoulders. Why would I tell you I love you when we never showed true emotion? I can't say I love you and risk waiting a week for you to respond. I can't say I love you and know deep down we aren't close enough. I can't say i love you to someone who mocked me when I was weak. We didn't work out. Can't say we really tried; It wasn't meant to be. I don't think of you because I miss you I think of you because I still think one day you'll give me the closure i need.
