Goodbye and Thanks

Goodbye fellow Poetry Soupers It’s time to change my ways, Time to adjust my life for the Coming longer, milder days. There are weeds to be pulled, Seeds to be sown, Hedges to be clipped, Grass to be mown, Walks to be walked, Friends to be seen, Places to be revisited, New places I’ve not been. Winter sloth is over Time for life to get back underway Time again to start achieving My ten thousand steps a day. Time to get back more To the way things have been Time to spend less hours Before an Apple monitor screen. So, goodbye fellow , Soupers, I've really enjoyed my stay But all things in time must end. It's time for me to be on my way.

Terry, congratulations on your POTD. Yes, being a part of this community is a commitment and we have to make choices about how to use this precious gift of time. You will be missed. I hope that some time, in the future, you will experience something that will cause you to once again pick your pen and share it on the soup. Blessings on your journey.

I know what you mean about garden, Terry It is the same down under with neglected gardens everywhere. Yet the value of well tended gardens should never be underestimated. our garden was a godsend during COVID restrictions in more ways than one. Also very good of you to write this poem before you looked away from the screen. I will try to read more of your work already posted in-between my gardening, friends etc. best regards David in NZ If or when you post again we hope for a gardening poem.

Terry, enjoy your time away. Moments in life are more important than starring at a screen for hours and hours. Have fun with family and friends. (We'll be here waiting when you return). Sometimes, a break is good for your muse. Congratulations on Poem of the Day. My best to you. Hugs, Brandy

Last spring I was mowing my lawn and worrying about where my daffies would be starting to sprout. It caused me to ‘head- write’ what I thought was a not-half-bad poem about squirrels remembering where all their nuts are but humans can’t remember a few bulbs they put in. Unfortunately, I forgot almost every word and never did recreate it. My point is, something will plant a seed in your head and maybe you’ll be back sooner than you think. Till then, all the best, Terry. Terry.

You may be surprised, Terry. I thought I was through with this group a couple of years ago, but here I am again. I hope you may do the same, in time. So long 'til then and congrats on a great farewell piece.

What a graceful farewell, Terry. Really a wonderful piece of poetry --- except maybe you want to keep your little pinky finger in the pie: You know, maybe sit down for 45 minutes one day a week and write something to stir our hearts again! Here's wishing you a happy, healthy 10,000 steps a day! Best wishes, Gershon

Well Terry, perhaps you could stop occasionally and drop us a postcard, a brief Haiku, a Limerick, just to check in. I enjoyed your poem, both humorous and sternly stoic.
