Goodbye

Forgetting a name takes time,
tell the world it can have mine.
I am done trying.

Time to close old doors,
say goodbye to all friends and foes,
start a new chapter,
where I grow.

Truth is way too costly,
to not be paid.
Even effort could negate,
the need for breathing.
It murders even fate.

Use the pieces of my soul,
to heal the wounds, once you know,
I belong to someone else.
Never forget I was the one,
that waited all this time for crumbs,
and after all the songs I’ve sung,
I was shun.
