Goodbye

I’m feeling hurt. My heart is grieving. You left this earth, Taking a piece of me with you. In my mind our youth was endless. I still can shut my eyes and feel the magic of that time. Lazy days, and untold secrets. Adventures and awe of what lay ahead. It was a time of innocence, An age of wonder Where laughter and sunshine were the main ingredients our lives. We were encircled in the love of our parents, I remember family picnics at the park. Lots of chicken; hours of talking; baseball games and water balloons. Everything was an adventure and ours for the taking. That was my take on life. I knew that we all made choices, But not how they would change our course. Oh the sweet, sweet memories, Of how we use to be. Soon there will be none to remember that once, We were the blossoms.
