Good Luck Being Stuck

Well, here we are stuck at home 'cos everything's closed So, we could do what we usually do and self-isolate I mean, each of us could retreat into his room, shut the door, and do what we normally do in there on the internet or whatever Or, we could say to each other, "Hey, this is a real opportunity, guys! Like, here we are together in the middle of the day for a change!! Why not take advantage of this moment in time -- Who knows how long it will actually last -- and do some fun stuff together as a family?!" Like what? Like what? Like what? Like what? (My heart sinks a little as the question echoes through the house, but...) Well, why don't we have a hootenanny and sing our favorite songs? (Dead silence). Uh-huh, I see. Or, we could play charades, you know (Eyes roll). OK. Don't all jump at once. How about a board game?... You guys!! If you're not up for fun, let's at least have dinner together -- You say that you're vegan now...And that you've just now stuffed yourself... Uh-huh... So, as I was saying, I just can't wait till this scare is over, and we can all go back to our normal routines!

If you have a hootenanny, I am coming to Chicago even if they close the interstates! I have not had a hootenanny since the last time I heard the word hootenanny back in '59. Laughing my guts out. I am taking your advice though. Finally writing a poetry book.

Gershon, Sentimental times. You can do a lot worse than self-isolating with family. Some have been doing it for quite some time. Your poem calls to a problem that was already growing even before a virus was set upon us. Nice this poem 'Good Luck Being Stuck' to put a finer point. So I'll thank you for that. Have a nice week-end. -Richard

Actually, my family doesn't have this 'generation gap' problem, so I am very blessed. Good luck riding things out, Richard! Best always, Gershon

It's a good thing folks can still go online, because a lot of time is spent doing just that anyway. Great poem, Gershon. :=)

Well, this nutcase would rather be outside during the day than on an electrical device... Not much choice now, though I still read books. (Remember those?! LOL). Thanks, Evelyn! :) Gershon
