Golden Years

As we approach holiday cheers You’re cherished each and every day I’m grateful that you came my way You showed me love, I faced my fears I didn’t think that love was tangible My feelings are unchangeable We were young, we went against peers Folk doubted our union would last My darling we proved them wrong fast Now we are in our golden years What I feel for you is still strong Right by your side where I belong I can now say soulmate through tears You’ve been a good lover and friend This passion for you will not end As we approach holiday cheers You showed me love, I faced my fears We were young, we went against peers Now we are in our golden years I can now say soulmate through tears Dedicated to love * This is my fist attempt at the Constanza form. I hope it makes sense. 12-14-17

It sure makes sense, Alexis! The fact that you made a success of your married life, despite what others thought, is worthy of sincere congratulations. May your love and companionship last for many more years! ~ Wishing you and all your loved ones a happy & blessed Christmas. // paul

A beautiful Constanza to honor Connie's form, Alexis. She is moved and I am too! ( I can't believe in just 7 years I too will be a golden oldie in this category.I still remember seeing them in the newspaper as a teen and wondering how it must feels to be married THAT long. hahaha) Now I know, it feels like you were going the speed of light.

Yay! It is a very moving Constanza Alexis! I know my form is a challenge. The secret is to write the Monorhyme first and then blend in the other lines. This beauty is going into my Faves my friend! Blessings and have a wonderful holiday! I am honored you wanted to write a Constanza! Hugs, Connie ; )

Another fine poem by your gifted pen, Alexis. You sure do tackle a lot of forms that I don't even know about. Good for you. Beautiful loving thoughts expressed in this aging mellow romantic poem. Gorgeous inked poetry at it's finest. A fave for sure. Love and happy holidays to you and yours.
