Notes About The Poem

Golden Tears by Gustav Klimt 1901-09

Song for this  Mad World by Jasmine Thompson

Golden Tears by Klimt

The higher heavens kept her secret
that love once kindled, doesn’t perish with distance
It burns in the marrow, it gleams in the wound
Endless falls of the Sun’s golden tears
filling cups of sorrow with a final goodbye
Freya weeps for her lover destined never to return
she leans on the hammered gold wall
with partial face aglow and a deep-set eyelid closed
amber ringlet waves coiled, goldschläger drips
from the Norse Goddess this your myth of olde
its Óðr she longs for
                              Of divine madness
                              drowns tomorrow
                              she fills the regal rivers
and every tear fell from her

                           ...glimmers lux vitae

That is a deep and moving painting and the song is fitting for your poem... You have the most amazing way with words and you really know how to touch a heart or inspire a soul... You imagination on this painting is very clever, and I like the ending showing her yearning... Love hurts, especially when some take it for granted and abuse it... keep on inspiring..

Ah, Silent, Ty. I read somewhere his inspiration came from the Norse Goddess, yet maybe a rumor . His father worked as a gold engraver. Yes love is special, keep it alive, I thrive for a higher love as well. You're very kind, sweet poet. ')

Three main points that impress me a lot & deserve the highest praise in this wonderful poem: 1/. Metaphor: "love once kindled, doesn't perish with distance" / "It burns in the marrow." 2/. Imagery: "hammered gold wall" / "amber ringlet waves" / "golden tears." 3/. Alliteration: "deep-set eyelid closed" / "amber ringlet waves." This is a fave for me, dear Anaya.

You've shown me alliteration can be more than one thing, yes, we know that gold-leaf is hammered gold, goldschloger as well. Ty dear Sotto for the fave. Blessings

Ty, Paula, It's still a work in progress, and there's music for it. Best wishes
