Golden Jubilee
Golden Jubilee
We cut the 50th wedding anniversary cake.
We hold hands and smile beaming
as we look into each other's eyes.
The colony we created applause.
What's not on the list?..
Cheers, toast, poses, selfies...
We stand, a legendary example.
I am happy I could take it all in the path.
A path of togetherness and sharing.
I eye him affectionately as he
goes around clinking his glass with the
younger generation..
He turns to thank me for my constant
support all through the journey...
And my great understanding, my patience,
My dedication, my overwhelming love.
Indeed, I'm very understanding..
I thought of all the flings he had
And I knew about all of them but
never ever mentioned them to him.
He will never know that when I would
suddenly threw the idea for a party,
of a weekend out or a craze for shopping,
It was to appease my pain and deception
and refuel myself to sustain this marriage.
But I love him and love him more for not
having made me feel the second best
Or less beautiful, or less desirable.
We are afterall an awesome couple
of our own passing generation!!!
