Going To the Store

An elderly man smiled at me today
his face so round and merry,
It filled my heart so full of joy
   my day no longer weary.
He had no idea what his smile had done
   to warm my heart completely,
and so on down the isle he went
with his bags tucked in so neatly.
His smile still bright and charming
as he walked on out the door,
What a nice day this turned out to be
   just going to the store.
Its amazing how a simple gesture
   can brighten up ones day,
If you see a stranger, smile at them,
   for kindness goes along way.

I'm overcome with pride for you. This is probably the most uplifting message I've read on Poetry Soup! The rythem and rhyme are extremely well done! Encore, Dee! Encore!
