Notes About The Poem

Wrote this just before I went into hospital to have my throat stretched again and to have some more tests done. I'm doing some better. At least I can swallow now but I have to take care not to strain my throat. It does give me some pain. Don't know what seems to be the trouble. They say they see no signs of cancer anywhere. 

Going To the Hospital

I'm going to the hospital again.
I'll see some new and old friends.
The doctor must like me for he likes to see me,
At least once a year to attend,

To matters concerning my throat.
Seems it slowly constricts and I choke.
Food sticks in my throat, I strangle and choke,
It's a chore just to eat that's no joke.

But it's only day surgery you see.
By noon they will soon set me free.
We'll go out to eat, my family and me,
I can order whatever I please.

There'll be no soup du jour for I've had the cure.
I can eat whatever I see.
For one year it's just great, I can fill up my plate.
Till it happens again I'll feel free.

Sara Kendrick April 14, 2020 at 9:55 AM Sometimes this is caused from GERD and the acid causes the problem I guess it causes scar tissue then when they open it up the acid can flood in again. You probably need to be on something like Prilosec everyday to help with acid reflux. Thanks for dropping by. I appreciate you reading and taking time to comment. Demetrios Trifiatis April 11, 2020 at 4:13 PM Dearest Judy last October I had the same symptoms plus I could breath! I was easily checked, my throat hurt and coughed continuously. For three months the same story finally last January it went away. All my exams were perfect. What was it? Not certain. They said it started by an infection. I am certain all will be fine with you.
