Going Back

I dreamed I was a boy once more and the world was still a wonder. Each day’s sights opened a door whence the rain, why the thunder? Under rocks I spied frizzy things that scattered at my intrusion Black and grey, some with wings they seemed a frightful illusion. I thought grown-ups were all wise they had answers for every quiz. Out of my dream it was a surprise learning they didn't know all that is. I hope I dream that dream once more to live again in a world of wonder. There’s certain to be more in store of spies, lies, and pirated plunder.

what a charming poem Paul i especially enjoyed the second stanza and the frizzy things found under rocks , children are so inquisitive and ask parents such difficult questions at times. close your eyes and maybe the dream will return because the reality of the real world sure is scary:-) hugs Jan xx

Thank you, Jan. Please forgive my tardiness in responding (somehow overlooked your kind comment). You call the poem "charming." That makes my day AND night, even after all these months. Hugs, Paul
