God's Whispers

An amethyst sunset splashed across the sky, a rainbow after a storm; majestic mountains crowned with snow, and a pristine lake of cobalt blue. A crimson cardinal hopping across the lawn, the purring of a cat curled up in my lap, its fur soft against my fingers; wisteria hanging in grape-like clusters, infusing the air with its intoxicating perfume, and azaleas in full bloom. The soft sigh of a baby's breath against my cheek, and the innocent laughter of children at play. A hug from a friend, my true love's kiss, the arms of my grandchild wrapped tightly around my neck. In all these things, and so much more, God's quiet voice whispers, "I love you." 11/12/15 For Brian Strand's All Yours (March 28) contest

I like this as it reminds me of one of my own ['Ineffable'], with a similar theme showing that God' miracles are everywhere in the things we take for granted-- tell me, Kim, why can't more folks 'see'!!?

The rhythm was natural and flowed easily. The continuous progression of examples reflected the continuity of Jehovah's love, his blessings and his care for us individually and as the entire human race. It was a genuine joy to read and review this exceptional poem. Thank you for sharing yourself with us.

WOW! Your poem is incredible. Starting with the title, it is indicative of a close relationship; God words are for you alone. I am overcome with thoughts and feelings about the theme of your poem. You recognize all good things come from Jehovah (James 1:17) your heart is overflowing with blessing and you appreciate every one. The descriptive imagery of your words is inviting to the reader. I envisioned every scene as if it were happening to me.

Your lines filled my senses, then the next line filled a different sense, and on and on it went - a welcomed onslaught on my senses filled with wonder, love and pleasure. All the quiet ways God's love speaks loud. A very good poem, Kim - YES ... CayCay
