God's Priceless Gift

When God the Father gave His Son
to live on earth and died for man.
He gave all that Heaven could give
So that fallen men could live.

The Jewish leaders spurned God’s gift
treating His Son with utmost scorn.
They accused Him and got Him killed
and when He died, their hearts were thrilled.

Judas, the traitor sold Him out
To the leaders who sought His death.
His perfidy stabbed him like a knife
So, he went out and took his life.

A woman came, opened her gift,
and on Jesus, pure spikenard poured.
Her gratitude revealed her love
for God’s great gift sent from above.

Today His gift God offers still,
to you and I, and everyone.
I hope that whatever you do,
you will not spurn God’s gift to you.
