~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just a note to the reader: this poem is not biographical - as I don't have first hand experience, but it is intended to discourage anyone who might be considering an abortion My heart stills, as it silently despairs Remembering the chill like a wintery night My heart dreads the moment when light fades As shadows reveal The darkest fate My heart stills, beneath the darkest thoughts What was the motive for aborting The innocent, the pure… The sweet little infant, who God sent to you What was the motive? What was the cause? Why kill the baby – the baby who grows Beneath your heart…. Such a tiny smile, such a gentle hope But now she’s up in heaven I wonder what she knows…. My heart stills, as it silently despairs Remembering the chill Oh, a wintery night
This poem possibly tells me you had an abortion. Guess what God is a forgiving God of love. That image was excellent. Maybe this poem can serve as a message to other young people.
NO! I absolutely DID NOT have an abortion. That is the worst thing I could ever imagine and I had no idea that someone might get that from this poem. It was meant to discourage abortion, not as some sort of admission of such an awful thing. I'm happy to say I never had an abortion and I hope no one else gets that from this poem.!!! God bless you. Love, Gina
Powerful poem. Sad. At least she is God's arms. Abortion affects each individual impacted by it. It is sad that the democrats just voted to prevent a measure that would have required doctors to provide care for infants born alive.
