Gods and Devils
Gods in time have come and gone
To salvage life for the forlorn
And Christians came from Jewish lore
A prophet from the Middle East
To spread the word and aid the poor
Then demons arose to fill the seed
The yin and yang of good and bad
A fallen angel dueled with God
Then forced to spend his life in Hell
He knew the human will so well
To compete with God in collecting souls
And weaken man’s will and destroy their goals
To seek the power of the mind
In modern days he changed his suit and
and sits upon a business throne
The Devil exists in the spirit or not
To erode all man’s faith and cause it to rot
To retreat for a time then return once again
So lift your hands up in the air
And say a universal pray
And coalesce with just your faith
Gods and Devils are always here
And we are left but to compare
That human life is pure in heart
And we can end what Devils start
