God, Tell Me Why

God, One day, will you tell my why little babies have to die? Children starve while mothers cry Deadly bombs drop from the sky God, tell me. Tell me why. God, Feel the ground about to shake People buried in the quake Rescue missions are at stake Hearts you made weren't meant to break God, tell me. Tell me why. God, One day will you please explain Primal screams all laced with pain Healthy minds now gone insane Slashed wrists causing crimson stain God, tell me. Tell me why. God, Do You see this genocide? Children have no place to hide Sniped and slautered, rights denied Bodies burned, the wounds split wide God, tell me. Tell me why. God, Families are torn apart by aggressors with no heart "Torture, maim, erase from chart anyone who won't depart!" God, tell me. Tell me why. God, Hurting souls cry out to You Vengence waits, I know it's true Now, Lord, now...what can we do as our hearts are torn in two? God, please tell me. God, Seared in conscience are the dead Lying here upon my bed Why them and not me instead? Wakeful thoughts are filled with dread God, is heaven up ahead? God, please....tell me. All of us who have a heart tend to ask questions similar to yours, Eileen. None of us were created to do bad/evil things, but like Richard said, free will comes with consequences. Social circumstances can be blamed, though there are many other reasons. In your case I sense a feeling of helplessness, knowing that there is not much we individuals can do, while those who have the power fail us. ~ It is important that we have faith in God; He knows best! ~ Big hugs, my friend // paul

Good to hear from you, dear. Yes. I believe that only faith can get us through because the magnitude of suffering is overwhelming. Those of us in this part of the world who have gone through war have reached our saturation point.

I always believe that God knows best. Hard for our small minds to understand, but we are mere spots in a great immensity.

That's true. That's why I wait to hear the answers one day. Thanks for the visit.

Very powerfully expressed. When we read revelations, a number of these questions are answered. When God provided humans free will, along with free will came consequences for ourselves and others as well as the planet as a whole. I wrote a piece titled “Human Hands” it deals with how God works through us.

Yes. Prophecy is being fulfilled; however, it is just too much pain and carnage. There is a genocide taking place and the world is silent. So sad..

Yes. On this side of eternity we will never know. What a smart comment, John. Hope all is well.

Dear Eileen, Quite a powerful and heart-wrenching cry that you penned. I think I really liked the raw display of emotion and the questions you raise about suffering and injustice. Eileen, it is such an impactful and moving poem. Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel.

Thanks, Daniel. This poem is torn out of my heart. Maybe one day I will get my answers. Blessings.

Love this. Many have these kind of questions. For forty years I've helped people get logical, satisfying answers, not from religion, but from the Bible. The answers really are all there Eileen, and they're palatable, even inspiring. Wishing you a kind week

How long? Revelation even mentions that the blood of those who were martyred for His sake all this question... how long till justice is served?

It is difficult. But we have to believe all the wrongs will be righted. The innocent will be brought back to a new world while their oppressors experience oblivion

I think one of the greatest tests of faith is man's response to suffering, especially when the innocent are the ones suffering. I can't even bear to see stray animals on the street without shedding a tear. How much more the indiscriminate extermination of people.

Hi, dear. I know the answers. The greatest one being, where was God when Jesus hung on the cross? He had to let him pay the price of sin so redemption could be complete. This is all brought on by the evil one. I believe in a Second Coming. I know it is soon. However, the amount of pain and suffering that I'm witnessing, espcially in this part of the world is overwhelming. Even though we are waiting for the gospel to be preached to all the world for the end to come, I wish there could be an end to suffering NOW.
