God Shaped Hole
We search this life
Till the ends of the earth
Searching for answers
Needing to find our worth
Why are we so empty
Tasks of the day to day
Is there any meaning
Any color in these shades of gray
Always filling our lives
With the next best thing
Trying our best to impress
They’ll all bow down to the king
Anything you can do to fill this void
Always left more and more destroyed
Demons whispering louder and louder
Nothing more than a simple coward
Refusing to give up your pride
Gladly swallowing every lie
Living life like the wind
Chasing happiness anywhere you can find
All morals have faded away
Your love has become decayed
Leaving friends behind
Never on your mind
Success is all you need
Feeding on your greed
Never giving, always taking
This mask shows your nothing but a fake
I look at your life in disgust
Someone I will never trust
Go ahead and live empty in your possessions
Living in the pain of your unanswered questions
Life will never be whole
Till you see your heart’s God shaped hole
Sometimes I can’t help but take pity on you
Banking on everything that isn’t true
You live your life in false securities
Overlooking the love you can never see
You’ll work your way to your grave
Blindly building your home in hell
So sad to see the love you wouldn’t take
And how far you’ve fell
I pray one day you’ll really see
What life is supposed to be
I’m covered in the riches of grace
Love is what I’ll give and take
Blessed by my God, my friends, my family
I’ll always live my life whole
Because God filled my heart’s God shaped hole
