Notes About The Poem

Written June 29 2026 after seeing this true story on the news. The Waxhaw NC man shot his mom over four times. Then he left went to a trail and shot someone else in the face. That person is in the hospital. It's so awful I had to write about it. The mother died.

God Judges

Saw a news story that made me shudder
A man shot a man after killing his own mother

He committed other crimes no stranger to sin
Crossed the state line in time turned himself in

This person lived with his mother as well
For his cold heart he will go to hades hell

I don’t know anything of how he grew up
But I do know he has lived long enough

I know it’s wrong to kill another
And he has killed his own mother

God judges no one should take life
He doesn’t deserve to live another night

Sadly, our criminal justice system is so twisted that depending on the state where you live, the money you can afford for a good lawyer and the jury you get, you can get off with a very light sentence or even plead out to a lighter sentence. Some people completely innocent are on death row while these horrible obvious offenders could be walking free to kill again in a few years. I am not joking. I see it all the time in true crime shows. It's a terrible shame. Love your writing about this

I know it’s just awful! If you can pay you can get away! Thanks for reading.

You are absolutely right dear Karen. Such a brute of a man who has killed his own mother has no right to live. Great couplets.

Such an evil world we live Karen, I wonder if he had some kind of mental illness. Tom

Please don’t say that. I have a mental illness and many others who do would never kill. I don’t know for sure but I think he is an evil sociopath!
