God Blessed Our Founding Fathers

God Blessed Our Founding Fathers
By Franklin Price

God blessed our founding fathers
Who then led us off to war
To establish our Great Country
That had never been before

They stood up tall and mighty
Before the greatest Isle on Earth
They signed the Declaration
Giving our great country birth

They called upon the citizens
To stand up, fight and die
When we read Declaration
We can see the reason why

They fought for God and Country
With no military might
Followed God who led them
As they moved from dark to light

God led them on to victory
Made the grand old U.S.A.
Which now, is not the way it was
Back in our Founding Fathers' Day

We need to read the Declaration
That signed away their very lives
And those who chose to fight back then
For this country that now thrives

Is it only for the money
That we live now in this land
Not the independence fought for
When founding fathers made their stand

Do we stand for God and Country
As they did back in that day
Or are our motives mostly selfish
As we move along the way

Does God still lead our country
Or have we put Him now aside
Thinking we can do it better
If we manage our own ride
