Which now, is not the way it was Back in our Founding Fathers' Day We need to read the Declaration That signed away their very lives And those who chose to fight back then For this country that now thrives Is it only for the money That we live now in this land Not the independence fought for When founding fathers made their stand Do we stand for God and Country As they did back in that day Or are our motives mostly selfish As we move along the way Does God still lead our country Or have we put Him now aside Thinking we can do it better If we manage our own ride
