Gobsmacked and Bamboozled and Confused
Gobsmacked and bamboozled and confused
I peeked into the oven where the baking dishes slept
resting in a pot of onion stew
Couldn’t help but laughing, they were snoring as they wept
dreaming of a casserole or two
Picked a card while on the deck next to an old fruit tree
in a three piece suit made out of hearts
Thought I grabbed a king but found I only held a three
folded with a straight of cherry tarts
Climbed onto a ladder that was laying on the ground
hoping I could see just over head
Still afraid of heights but thinking no one was around
believing what the audience had said
Drove off to the levy in a beat up rusted Ford
my Chevy had a tire that was flat
Tried to sing along but noticed I was getting bored
who would write a song as long as that
Painted in a corner in a room shaped like a ball
brushing up a bit before I go
Mixing darker colors than are found out in the hall
thinking that the den would never know
Wrote a stupid poem that I posted here on soup
saw there was a multitude of views
Went to read the comments, found that none I did recoup
gobsmacked and bamboozled and confused
