Go Figure
Airplanes are falling out of the sky,
diseases are giving us new ways to die
Mothers hold your babies close, closer to you,
just never know when death might come strolling by
Systemic oppression causes cultural upheaval,
smiling faces make the lies look so believable
Fathers get your kids, teach them what they need to do
to survive in a world becoming increasingly evil
Low wages, high road rage mortality
Big credit debt, small bump in prosperity
Grandparents tell the children how this all ain't nothing new,
the way it was back then, is the way it now seems to be
Rumors of war is on the horizon, just around the bend,
neighbor spying on neighbor, friend spying on friend
Spouses grab on to each other, so love can get you both through
One day soon, the madness is all gonna come to an end
Go figure when, if you're smart enough, go figure how
The third act is nearly over, it's almost time to take a bow
Children listen to your parents; if not, your days are gonna be few
Go figure on how to enter in, hoping you're one heaven will allow
