glow

They hold the world in their very hands
holding the hands of many
They command attention in every room
with not a single doubt or worry
in every circle, there is a space
always a way to replace
what they’ve lost and want forgot
what’s it like to lead the race?
I would love to know what it must be like
to have such power, to have such might
when nothing is out of your sight
do they know darkness, living in light?
The root cause of my temptation
lies solely in my satisfaction
to know respect like your own name,
to be the master of the game
Everything I’ll never be is everything they have
and so I fall, every time
despite the truth, despite the signs
why would I chase the outcasted race
that mirrors my tired face?
If just right there, I can see a glow
of something that I just don’t know.
