Glory In True Service

To serve the Lord,
In truth and awe
To reverence him,
With all our hearts
And when we yield
Then he’ll concede

Tho some might say,
His ways are hard
And his yoke heavy
He made it so,
That we may know,
That He alone is Lord

But is that really so?
No, His yoke is light
And easy to bear
But to taste his goodness in full
There’s a price to pay
Cos our God isn’t just cheap

It might not be really straight,
But somehow you’ll get there
Cos if it were made so
We wouldn’t know
The worth of his grace

But when we really stand for him
And painstakingly hold on,
However tough it seems,
We’ll see at the end,
That all He’s doing,
Is really for our good
And just in our best interest

For He already affirmed,
“Just like the heavens are higher than the earth
So are my ways higher than yours
And my thoughts greater than yours”
“Before I formed you in the belly
I knew you
And already sanctified you”

I breathed life in you,
And moulded you,
The works which I have started,
I’ll bring to a fruitful completion
I have your love at heart
Was why I called you

And just so I (me) know,
The lord is faithful
And all deserving
Don’t know ‘bout you
