Glimmering Hues of Gold
Days of my youth...
I remember quite well
The moment fireflies arrived
across meadows and my front lawn
Twilight time...
at the end of Summer's relentless heat
they appeared as tiny lanterns
each one glimmering in hues of gold
I hope that memory never fades
along with so many from those days
I'd prefer to keep each one of them
when life held no worries or strife
