This poem is very old, at least compared to how many I've written since. It felt like so long ago because I was in a drastically different place in my life, but it was written in March of 2021. This is not my best work by any means, but it is incredibly meaningful to me and simple yet complex in the best way, making it one of my favorites. It's about letting some form of thought manifest and cause pain and disruption in your life. I'm telling myself here that I made this all up, and I have the power to become greater and conquer this mess even though I felt very helpless during this time. This poem is me expressing my want to conquer what I was going through and become the person I know I can be but feel held back from. I 100% feel like that person now, but it took a little while to get here. Still very powerful to me reading it back, and it will forever be one of my favs along with the title.
