Giving ‘it' a Chance
Life brings us something or someone new each day. It can be the person
behind the counter at the store, it can be the person who flashes you their pearls
for a second as you walk by, or it can be that perfect stranger who stands next to
you, with a large drink in their hand, as you vibe to the soothing melody of soulful
artists. It does not matter where, when, who, or how; ‘it’ just happens. What’s ‘it’
you may ask? It can be a new friendship; it can be a new person to care about; it
can be a person who makes you smile by just hearing their voice or seeing their
unique beauty; it can a new lover; and importantly, it can be, if you are ever lucky
enough, a real love so deep that your unconscious being takes the driver’s seat
from your sense of reality. After vowing never to let yourself get on that cloud and
fall, someone always appears to test that commitment. What can one say, life
acts in many comedic ways.
After coming from such a dark place of pain, neglect, anger, abuse, depression,
low self-esteem, and unsurity, how do you know when that person has arrived?
That person you say? Yes, that person who fits the pattern that faith and destiny
designed for you to share your most treasured moments with for as long as you
live. How do you open up your heart again to something that, by chance, may be
a beautiful creation or a tragic failure?
The risks you take for a chance at love are sometimes worth the patience and
trouble.
Infatuation and lust clouds your judgment and throws you a curve ball so hard it
fractures your body and your spirituality. If you are not careful, you may end up in
the beginning again. Where is the beginning? You know; the place of a thousand
heart attacks and heartaches, loneliness, and anger.
One thing that remains consistent in your beliefs and values is giving people the
benefit of the doubt and hoping that they do not disappoint you. What ever does
not kill you will only make you stronger and if you have being inflicted and
survived the bullet wounds then you have nothing to lose; time is on your
side.
