Giving

To those of you with hearts of gold,
who believe it is better to give than to receive.
Be mindful, and wary as life does unfold,
you may fall victim to those who deceive.

To give of oneself is loving and kind.
At times we may give more than we should
Being charitable is gracious, but keep in mind,
that if the need was yours, do you think another would?

I couldn't agree more Sandra, with your wise words. We can lose our balance just a much by giving too much as by giving too little. It is always best to keep things in balance. A great poem to teach my friend! : ) xxoo

Thank you Connie, always a pleasure to hear from you. Balance it is, only a fine line separates the two sides.

The problem is with giving people they just give and you can't tell until after the fact who the bad guy and who the good guy is, they don't wear black and white hats. This causes a lot of people to stop giving completely which doesn't help those in true need. It's a catch 22 so to speak. Great write!

Thank you, Bobby, an interesting comment, it is as you say. Getting burnt a few times and you don't want to go there again. Self preservation. Try to make a decision being mindful, if that is possible.

True Sandy, there are those who can be victimized. It is good to be aware of this. Giving must continue and balance is always good :)
