Listen to poem:
Song by Benny Berry
In the day when one awakes
To take notice of the walls
They have built to block out
This evil from the world
Becoming a prisoner in these walls
Held captive in blindness
Locked to this world in chains
We have tried our own path
And nothing seems to work out
Falling victim unto a bottomless pit
Seeking and climbing for a way out
To be set free of this heart of stone
Unknown pride, hate and lust of worldly things
That were instilled within from deception
We fight against our own path to lead
Into a final place of happiness but none found
Only to be found when we just give up the fight
Say oh God my way is no good
Finally found in your word to say humanly
It is impossible to make it in the flesh
Into your kingdom from which we are born
We need to be reborn of your spirit
This is when we see we need to die to old self
Through your spirit to receive new heart of love
In this moment to break down our walls
That we might be released from the bondage
Of being held captive in this chaos
Separated from within and from this world
Give my heart to you to lead and direct
Wow who would have known we just got to give up
And seek Jesus to receive true love, peace and joy.
All the treasures are within one should be seeking
Only to be found when being in the spirit being
Then just waiting for the day to see the reward
Cherishing and holding on tightly
Not to let the enemy try and steal it
Jesus teach my eyes and mind of your ways
For it shines a light unto his darkness
Lord let many give their heart to you
Now we know your worth dying for
Let us escape these prisoner walls
Which we are all in until breaking out
May God bless, comfort, guide and fill you
With His love, peace, spirit and joy in abundance
