Give It Back, Again

When the sun went down, my head grew dim.
I took all that mind-junk and anger, & I gave it to Him.

I didn’t toss. I didn’t turn. Me & the pillow didn’t fight.
In truth, I slept well through a very peaceful night.

But when I awoke, something was very wrong.
Before bed I forgot to put my holy Armour on!

Now my peace, & spirit, & my mind are a wreck! Ok, Lord...Help me out...
Tell me how to give you back all this mess.

Holy Spirit said, “ Get down on your knees, & cast your eyes upon Him!
Hurry! Do it now! There isn’t a moment to waste.
Remember ‘twinkling of an eye’? Remember ‘morning’s renewed grace’?

So I did as I was told. Separating His words from the lies.
And as I felt the uplifting, I began to cry.

And I thanked my precious Jesus because He is always, always there.
The One who is, & was, & is to come. My Sovereign King, & Dearest Friend.

Thank you, Lord of Love.
