Give a Smile
I went downtown yesterday
And this is what I saw
People running in a flurry
In the streets and in the malls.
They do not stop to say hello
Or when they are off a quick goodbye
And if you try to talk to them
In an instant off they fly.
This is speaking for today.
But what will tomorrow hold?
Will they have an open hand?
or will their deck completely fold?
It will be a brand new day
So you may walk slower for a while
And if you choose not to speak
Then hurriedly give a smile.
