Gigantic Ugly Teddy Bears

They take up all the window space In garish pinks and reds – Gigantic ugly teddy bears, The kind of gift one dreads. They aren’t cute or cuddly But this is no surprise – Whoever put them out there Thought that they’d impress by size. I pass the store each day and guessed A few would disappear Since we all know the holiday Of Valentine’s is near. Yet still they sit, but not because Of reasons you’d assume – Apartments in the city Simply do not have the room!

Funny stuff here! Saw the movie "Fences" tonight, I recommend it. Keep up the rhymed verse. I have another poem coming out in the Times - the 4th time! Peace & Love Matthew Anish

they are just a waste of space and cost a fortune Ilene no wonder they sit on the shelves long after Valentine's day is long passed:-(In 27 years we have never celebrated the day but I did propose to my hubby and it wasn't a leap year :-) hugs Jan xx

i agree with you, jan! instead of feb. 14th, we celebrate feb. 7th - the day that we met (much more important than the day we married...)
