Gibraltar Crumbling

the wrath of death's hands
like the lash of sea
erodes the edges
of my weary soul
with its unseen force

i am battered
bruised once again
emotions stir
inside my core

rock to sand
gibraltar
crumbling down

i fight
against

time

One of my favorites on the list so far. Congrats. So well done plus you picked the least likely theme for anyone to write on.

Fortunate that rock has weathered every storm it has faced and so will you my friend. This was sad but beautiful. Such a creative thought is wrapped around this heart gripping poem. Best wishes in the contest
