Ghostly Memoirs
I am the man you don’t remember
A face ‘‘twas once a child
‘‘Twas once a smile
I am a man that no one remembers
I man with a voice of angelic splendour
I am a man that no one remembers
I lived on your street, I dreamed under your moon.
I am a man that no one remembers
Family line all gone, family mine all gone
I am a man that no one remembers
An orphan, a bastard, a beggar, a sinner.
We are men that no one remember
We died in the Somme
Our bodies, our names, our lives all gone. Back home there was no one.
This field holds on
No one ever comes for us who remembers.
