My mother stayed 37yrs. old longer than anyone I have ever known. She never admitted her age until she was old enough to draw a Social Security check. I guess she figured if she was going to have to admit her age they had to pay her. lol

The Bible tells us:

"WHITE HAIR IS A CROWN OF GLORY AND IS SEEN MOST AMONG THE GODLY."                                                                                                                                 Proverbs 16:31

Time and tide they do not wait, We all have heard it said, And there are some who seem to view, The ebb and flow with dread. They do their best to stave it off, And live in deep denial, Trying not to show their age, And viewing it as trial. A tribulation of some sort, A thing to be avoided, Forgetting in their quest for youth, That age can be exploited; For with age comes experience, That younger folks don't have. Things that you have done before, Is to them enclave. A thing to them as yet untried, Is foreign territory. They'll listen to your wisdom, And practiced oratory; For things that to the younger set, Appear a mystery, For older folks is just old hat, And it's just history; So if we learn to use our age, Accept it as a friend, We'll age as does fine wine and so, Won't face a bitter end. We have to learn to face some facts, That some things must betide. You can run from age my friend, But you can never hide.

Aging can be great or not. It's just something there. Like air. I laugh at any Poet who thinks they are old at 60. Age means diddly, how you live it, is what counts. YOU ARE NOT YOUR AGE. YOU ARE FAR MORE. YOU ARE AN ETERNAL SPIRIT IN A BODY. Fine write! Xxoo

Hi Judy, You've penned such a well-written piece on getting older. I agree with the gist of your write; however, I think people are bombarded with the notion it's something wrong with accepting and owning their age. Excellent write. Have a good evening and weekend:-) Alexis

This was a great read and it made me recall how my mom always hated telling her age. I am the opposite. I feel proud to look younger than my age and to ACT younger. I collect SS this year. One thing I always do is tell my age one year older than I really am because it prepares me for the shock of that NEXT year added on, so I am telling folks I am 66 but really that won't be until Septemeber!!

If I had a name for every pain I feel, I would have been dead long ago. So I live from day to day. Hugs

So so true. But as I've said before, youth is a million dollar experience I wouldn't pay a nickle to repeat. Well penned my friend.
