Getting Attached To Angels Only Hurts Yourself

i want to say i'm strong enough
to leave you in the past
but this was something so important
that i wanted it to last
and i can't wrap my head around you
and how you moved on so fast.
 
i still need you
when i start retreating in my head.
all you ever wanted from me
was what i'd give in bed.
 
you come around
when you're feeling empty
because you know
i'll fill you up with love.
where were you
all of the times
i was sinking
and needed to be put above?
 
what about all of the times
that i was hollow
and you were nowhere to be found?
i called out your name
and played your game
but you never came around.
