Get Ready

Should you ask did I prepare
I believe I did, I’d say;
follow, and I’ll see you there.

I’ve had a life, have an heir,
left no debts for him to pay;
should you ask. Did I prepare?

I have booked my favored chair;
it will be a cabaret!
Follow, and I’ll see you there.

I’ve said a gentle prayer;
looked inside, and it’s ok;
should you ask, did I prepare?

Though it seems it’s hard to bear,
they’ll be a time when you may
follow, and I’ll see you there.

Do not worry dear; I e’er
thought about it every day,
should you ask, did I prepare?
Follow and I’ll see you there.

So tender, Terry. The structure of the villanelle really emphasizes the ritual of thought and preparation - being aware and alert. Nicely done! Best wishes to you for a win! Happy Christmas. Blessings of joy to you

Well if there is no war, corruption, greed, hate, murders and mankind destroying the planet, you'll see me there too. Enjoy your weekend Terry. Tom
