Get Away From Me

Why must you taunt me?
And why you torture me?
I want no parts of you
I hate this back and forth dance
It's like I’m stuck in the twilight zone
In that alternate universe
I’m a prisoner of pain
I look disgusting
I feel disgusting
The mirrors are covered
And some are broken into tiny pieces
So again I ask you
Why do you taunt me?
Why do you torture me?
Why are you following me?
I thought I was over you
But no you continue to haunt me
Get away from me my miserable
PAST!

Very passionate poem, Alexis. Expressed w/the power of conviction. That's what I tell my dark past too. A fave of mine for sure. A 7 + three thumbs up = 10, am I right. Let's kick the past to the curb again. Superb poetry, dear. Love and peace to you.

Haunted and taunted-You described an eerie sad feeling sweet Alexis...Indeed sometimes we have to keep on saying it until we believe in it ...Go away darkness of the past.Ill start anew. Heartwrenching dear.

We can't outrun our past my friend, but we can make every day forward better than before so that when we decide to look into our past again it is a much better sight to see. Nicely expressed pain and angst Alexis.
