haha, good ol' George Carlin - one of my favorites! I liked Steven Wright too.

Thanks David. Glad you liked it. Not familiar with Steven Wright. Will have to look him up.

I like the idea of the clerihew, especially the contrast between how George Carlin was perceived early on versus his later, more rebellious legacy. The last line is clever, referencing his famous "Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television."

I too like this form for the same reason. Interesting how he turned around completely from early on. Thanks Alesia

I remember seeing him somewhere after I looked him up. I guess he must have been one to not conform to what most people felt was proper for the day in the presence of women and children. Thanks for sharing. Sara K

Hmmm now you've got me wanting to know the seven words. This is so clever. I probably know if this person but right now my mind is not registering it!

George Carlin was an iconic comedian in the day. He died in 2008. His seven words skit was based on censorship rules that he opposed of words you cant say on TV. I cant print them here. Suffice it to say those words are pretty "dirty" He could be funny at other times though.
