Gemini Garden Silent One Just Words on a Page

That barren blank pristine surface
and then…..
The scratch of the pen
The grind of the pencil
That first mark as it strikes the surface and breaks the plane
The drip of the ink
The cathartic strokes of the pen
Eager to do it all over again

The sound of the words
Their acuity
Their accuracy
Their sensuality
Their spontaneity
Their perplexity
Their melody
Their harmony
Those that instill fear and forever warn me
Pleading
Begging
Cajoling
Charming

Those books on the shelf
Dogged ears
Crumpled page
That smudge
That rub
I know where I was
I remember that time
Like an old song
whose magic is strong

Just words ….

You have to read other poet's verses if you aim to get a reply. Your poem is intriguing.

Yes I am sorry about that. My husband has been in the hospital for over two years with liver failure. I haven’t even had the time to post or write any new material. I have been living with my 85 year old parents on the Eastern shore of Maryland and working part time as an industrial seamstress. The drive from Ocean Pines to Baltimore every Thursday and Monday to care for my husband is quite taxing as I am disabled myself. I’m just trying to hold everyone together for as long as I can. I wish I had more time to spare, but my Systemic Lupus makes life difficult for me. Hope you are well Kim
