Gandhi the Saviour
Gandhi
the savior,
the tower of tolerance;
awakened us
from authority;
he brightened our
spirit of sacrifice.
he soaked us with
his nectar of love
he had a heart of
special virtue
incapable of colour prejudice.
he declined to be
a bond slave
and the British pierced
him like an arrow
but his spirit of
compassion never withered;
he is a man of
matchless power
plunged and pledged
to protect our motherland
