Alas, my parents never indulged in games, except for a rare board game. Study was insisted on since employment was difficult. Hugs from Malta.

Us kids learned a lot from playing board games and cards together, especially when mom or dad would join in. The good old days, I guess I can say now. :-) Thanks for sharing your entry with us, my friend. Good Luck! A poet friend in Texas, Bill

This brings back memories of my youth. When I was growing up, my sister, brothers and I would play game in the back yard and our parents would sit out there and watch us. I miss those simpler times. Hugs, John

Parents being involved in our play made us feel 'valued', loved and made those 'simpler' times days worthy of missing, yes? We are blessed to miss them. One sister, plural brothers, it seems? I had one of each and so did my sister, ha - poor bro! Poetry hugs ... CayCay

Me, too! I don't like sensing that your parents didn't do games, if so, I feel bad for them because I know you were probably great company and fun. Poetry hugs ... CayCay

Dear CayCay, such a warm hug from childhood and it brought back the sound of laughter, the feel of carpet under knees, and the joy of being together just for the fun of it. Love often looks like a game board and a shared giggle. Blessings, My Dear CayCay, Daniel

I feel you Daniel, and I'm spiritually hugging you. The cycle of life is bittersweet. Missing parents so very hard. May you always remember her voice, her touch and that, I'm sure, she loved you very much. There's a good chance you'll 'hear' from her should you have a great need. Yesterday, we were the youth, now we're wearing early winter shoes - some don't live long enough to feel this truth. CayCay

Dear CayCay, My mom went home this past Easter. She was 92 years old and one of nine children. Only her one brother is still alive and moving and he is 98 years old. My mom was such a matriarch of the family and I was sad to see her go. She kept telling me that God must be mad at her and doesn't want her. I always reassured her that God still had a purpose in her life and He would come when he had her room prepared in Heaven. Blessings, My Dear CayCay, Daniel

I love your comments, you definitely get it! Whenever family united after we were grown, we played games, especially cards. Dad went to God in 1997, but we still played once we could handle his empty chair. In Nov I'll drive to see my sis and Mom. It may be the 1st time my Moma can't play, sis says her mind is slipping now - 88 yrs old. It's okay, it's alright, I don't need soothed, I just want to love on her. Poetry hugs ... CayCay
